The series Art without Religion – Rose Windows, is an artistic expression that delves into the architectural beauty of churches and cathedrals by focusing specifically on their rose windows and stained glass.

The artist finds great attraction in the majesty of these constructions, and in the fragility of the stained glass that adorn them, especially in the imposing rose windows, which are usually one of the most prominent elements of these buildings.

In this series of works, any figurative element or religious references that could be present in the originals are removed, thus disassociating them from ideologies and doctrines. With this idea in mind, a work is built focused solely on the beauty of these architectural ornaments.

This implies a conscious stripping away of the religious connotations that are usually attached to this type of architectural works. The aim is to highlight the intrinsic aesthetics of the rose windows and stained glass, freeing them from any symbolism or religious meaning. This series, therefore, becomes a celebration of form and composition, and moves away from traditional interpretations associated with ecclesiastical constructions.

Each work is named after a city, whose cathedral has left a unique mark on the artist’s creativity, which has been reflected in the corresponding work.
